Day 4 - 4/7/2017 - 255 miles to Limon, CO
Not a lot of miles today, but plenty of mountains.
We left Fort Collins this morning for a little drive to Estes Park, Colorado and the magnificent Rocky Mountain National Park.
You don't need me to tell you how important our national parks are. The fact that President Stupid is slashing funds for everything except the Defense budget should make everyone worried on how much worse these jewells will be managed. They've suffered for many years of short funding so repairs, not to mention enhancements, looks in doubt.
Watch and listen.

(OK, not all the pictures are from Colorado, or even the Rocky Mountains. Give me a break.)
No matter where you go, the Earth presents us with never ending wonder. I've been in great churches, St. Peter's in Rome, the Gaudi designed Sagrada Familia in Barcelona and many more. But no church can strike us with the reverence and power of the lands we are born from.
I have nothing against religion. 12 years of Catholic School teach you more that you will ever get from Sunday School. But I became an atheist, one who is comfortable with religion. But not always religious people, especially those who insist you must believe what they believe. For those, I think they will be surprised when they meet Saint Peter.
We went into Boulder and their amazing Pearl Street pedestrian mall. What a great thing can happen when you convert a downtown street into an amazing gathering place.

But what the hell, I like the mountains better.
